Three people died in a head-on collision in El Paso between a Ford F-150 and Nissan Sentra on October 10, 2022. The crash happened at the 1600 block of North Ascencion Street around midnight.
The driver of the truck was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. All three occupants in the Nissan Sentra passed away from their injuries.
North Ascencion Street remained closed through the morning as police and traffic investigators gathered evidence.
Parties Involved in the Crash
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of the El Pasonans who died in the crash on October 10.
The occupants were 19-year-old Gael Joaquin Torres, 18-year-old Juan Alfredo Herrera Yon, and 19-year-old Yahir Cedillo.

The accident is still under investigation, but details released by the Sheriff’s Office indicate the Sentra is likely at fault.
The vehicle failed to stay in its lane and traveled into oncoming traffic at a curve in the road, where it struck the F-150. The potential reasons for the accident are unknown.
