Associate Attorney (575) 222-1000 Contact Scott

Scott Turner, Associate Attorney, brings a strong foundation in litigation and a passion for advocacy to his work at Tawney, Acosta & Chaparro, P.C.

Scott earned his Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where he graduated with clinical honors from the Natural Resources and Environmental Law Clinic. As a lead clinical student, he worked on complex matters involving community water rights under New Mexico law.

During law school, Scott was selected as a Fellow in the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project, where he taught constitutional law to high school students in underserved communities. He also coached students in moot court and mock trial competitions, reinforcing his belief that education and access to legal knowledge can empower individuals and strengthen communities.

Before becoming an attorney, Scott clerked with us and supported attorneys through all stages of litigation, including drafting motions, conducting legal research, and preparing cases for depositions and hearings. He also previously worked as a High-Impact Tutor for the El Paso Independent School District, teaching middle school math and science.

Scott chose personal injury law because it gives him the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives. He believes in holding companies and institutions accountable when their actions cause harm - not only to help clients recover, but to create safer conditions for the community as a whole.

Admitted to the State Bar of New Mexico, Scott is committed to providing clear, effective, and dedicated representation. He strives to guide clients through difficult moments with confidence, ensuring they feel supported and know someone is fighting for them every step of the way.
