El Paso, Texas — A tragic El Paso Fabens three-vehicle accident early Wednesday morning killed one person and injured two others. Deputies responded around 5:29 a.m. to the 17000 block of Alameda Avenue after reports of the El Paso Fabens three-vehicle accident.

Police reported that a red Chevrolet Silverado traveled westbound on Alameda Avenue, followed by a black Toyota SUV. A gray Dodge pickup moved eastbound. The Toyota SUV tried to pass the Silverado and hit the Dodge head-on. The Silverado then struck the Toyota SUV.

The Toyota SUV driver, 54-year-old Maria De Cisneros Romo of Tornillo, Texas, died at the scene. Deputies took the Chevrolet Silverado and Dodge pickup drivers to a local hospital. Authorities have not disclosed the extent of their injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigators are handling the case. They continue to investigate the cause and reconstruct the events leading up to the crash.
