Albuquerque, New Mexico – a tragic car accident occurred at the intersection of Coors Boulevard and Bluewater Road NW in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Saturday afternoon, May 17, 2025. A collision between a gold Toyota Solara and a silver Ford Explorer resulted in the death of a passenger in the Toyota. Both drivers and an additional passenger in the Ford were injured and transported to the hospital in stable condition.

According to the Albuquerque Police Department, the Toyota was making a left turn southbound on Coors Boulevard when the Ford, traveling northbound through the intersection on a yellow light, struck the passenger side of the Toyota. The force of the crash caused the rear end of the Toyota to come to rest on top of the hood of the Ford.

Preliminary investigations by APD’s fatal traffic unit revealed that neither vehicle was speeding, and there were no signs of impairment due to alcohol or drugs for either driver. The investigation is ongoing to clarify all circumstances surrounding the collision.
