Las Cruces, NM- A tragic rollover crash in Las Cruces on Thursday, February 13, 2025, claimed the life of a 24-year-old woman, according to the Las Cruces Police Department. The incident occurred just before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of Griggs Avenue and Hermosa Street.

Authorities report that a car traveling west on Griggs struck an SUV heading south on Hermosa after the SUV allegedly ran a stop sign. The impact caused the SUV to rotate and roll over at least once, ejecting the 24-year-old driver. Police believe she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Sadly, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 22-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries. Officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased out of respect for the family. The intersection was temporarily closed as investigators worked to determine the exact circumstances of the crash.
