El Paso, TX – A tragic two-car collision in South El Paso claimed the life of 58-year-old Javier Camacho Armendariz late Friday night, March 7, 2025. The accident occurred at 11:52 p.m. at the intersection of Delta Drive and South San Marcial Street, near the Chamizal National Memorial.
According to police, Alfredo De Santiago, 26, was driving a 2022 Volkswagen Arteon westbound on Delta Drive when Armendariz, driving a 2000 Chevrolet Impala southbound on San Marcial Street, attempted a left turn onto Delta Drive. Investigators determined that Armendariz failed to yield the right of way, resulting in a collision between the two vehicles. Armendariz was transported to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The El Paso Police Department’s Special Traffic Investigations Unit continues to investigate the crash.
