El Paso, Texas (September 27, 2026) – A fuel truck and a pickup collided Sunday evening on I-25 near Hatch, New Mexico. The crash seriously injured four people.
Doña Ana County Fire Rescue (DAFR) responded just before 6 p.m. The fuel truck caught fire after the collision. Four people went to local hospitals with serious injuries.
Crews from the Arrey Derry Fire Department and Spaceport America assisted DAFR at the scene. Officials closed all lanes of I-25 in the area while crews fought the fire and cleared the wreckage. They expected the closure to last about three hours. Drivers should avoid the area and use an alternate route.
Authorities have not released the cause of the crash. The names and conditions of those involved also remain unknown.
