ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico — Police are investigating a serious two-vehicle crash in northwest Albuquerque that injured two people. The New Mexico crash happened around 7 p.m. Thursday at Coors Boulevard and Roberson Lane.
According to police, a white pickup truck crashed head-on into a silver car. The driver of the silver car and a passenger in the pickup truck suffered serious injuries.
Police identified the pickup truck driver as 56-year-old Carlos Gonzales-Daniel. After the crash, officers say he tried to flee the scene on foot. Officers later caught and arrested him.
Witnesses told police that Gonzales-Daniel appeared to drive erratically before the collision. They also reported that he yelled and made rude gestures at other drivers.
Authorities arrested Gonzales-Daniel on suspicion of DWI resulting in great bodily harm. He also faces a charge for leaving the scene of an accident resulting in great bodily harm.
