Albuquerque, New Mexico – Three people were hospitalized after a serious crash on Interstate 40 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, on Sunday morning. According to a news release from Albuquerque Fire Rescue (AFR), emergency crews responded around 8:30 a.m. to find a vehicle trapped and on fire beneath a semi-truck.
Meanwhile, firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and rescued two individuals who were trapped inside the burning vehicle. The extraction was completed in just 12 minutes. A second vehicle involved in the crash had rolled over roughly 50 yards away, and the person inside was also extricated by AFR crews.
All three individuals sustained injuries and were transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital for treatment. The current condition of the victims has not been released, and the cause of the crash is under investigation.
