Las Cruces, New Mexico — A woman suffered serious injuries in the Las Cruces two-vehicle crash Tuesday at the intersection of El Paseo Road and Farney Lane. The Las Cruces Police Department responded to the collision involving a Nissan Juke and a Honda Accord.

Firefighters rescued the woman after she became trapped inside the Nissan. Emergency crews took her to a Las Cruces hospital before airlifting her to an El Paso hospital for advanced treatment. Police later confirmed that she remains hospitalized in stable condition.

Investigators said a 20-year-old woman drove the Honda Accord involved in the crash. They believe one of the drivers may have run a red light, but they continue to investigate the exact cause. Police also said the driver of the Nissan did not wear a seatbelt, which may have worsened her injuries.

Authorities continue to examine the evidence as they investigate the Las Cruces two-vehicle crash and ask anyone with information to come forward.
