Albuquerque police have released hours of lapel camera footage capturing Chief Harold Medina running a red light and crashing into another car while fleeing gunfire. The videos depict various responses to the incident: officers checking on the crash victim, Todd Perchert, a group collecting video evidence of the alleged shooter, and Chief Medina directing officers to witnesses. Perchert, recounting the incident at a recent press conference, claimed to have had a green light before being struck by Medina’s truck. Additional footage shows witnesses describing the fleeing suspect, with Medina even pointing out a shell casing at the scene. Later, APD released surveillance footage of the suspect and the truck believed to be involved. New video depicts the suspect engaging with his alleged target and concealing a firearm before heading towards the shooting location. Despite receiving tips, APD continues to search for the suspect, having circulated his images to officers without success.
